Cuban restaurant recommendation

Cuban restaurant recommendation

We?re staying in Miami area for 4 days, but in reality 2 days out of 4 are spoken for. Really want to try some good Cuban food and not sure if we should had over to Little Havana (Versailles or Le Caretta) or stick to something in SoBe (YUCA, Puerta Sangua, etc).

TIA.

Live music during the week in Miami?

I?m interested in checking out the live music scene in Miami.  Unfortunately, I won?t be in town on the weekend.  Any suggestions Mon-Thursday (June 16-20)?

Bachelor Party for 30-somethings

Hi!

Please help!  My friend wants to go to South Beach for his bachelor party.  But I?ve never been there before!

We?ll be bringing about 10 guys down for a weekend in June.  Looking for a good nightclub for a Saturday night.  These are guys in their mid-30?s, mostly married, but still into having fun, so we?re looking for a place that?s a little bit more sophisticated.  I imagine it?s hard for us to get in so we don?t mind ponying up for bottle service if we have to.

Does anybody have any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Adobe Media Player is Open to “Longtail Publishers,” Too

Adobe Media Player is Open to “Longtail Publishers,” Too

Adobe’s newly introduced desktop application for video, Adobe Media Player, features content from mostly big publishers like CBS. But it’s a platform for long tail producers too, Beet.TV has learned.

The platform allows consumption of videos from any show that has media RSS feed, according to Deeje Cooley, Adobe’s Chief Internet TV Evangelist and co-creator of the Adobe Media Player.

This is similar to iTunes where there are both bona fide publishers and smaller publishers who’s shows are simply searched and pulled via media RSS.

Getting users to a show on the Adobe Media Player, which involves an initial file download, is being made easier by a sort of widget or “badge” which publishers can use around the Web. Once a user clicks on the “badge” they are brought through the download process and directly to a subscription. The badges are just coming online.

I caught up with Deeje earlier this month at Streaming Media East.

Review - Touzan - Kyoto

Review - Touzan - Kyoto
Ceramics, sake bottles and patterned tiles embellish the minimalist modern Japanese design at Touzan. Private tatami rooms have been reinterpreted as dining alcoves created by suspended blinds, while the main dining area looks out onto a wide Japanese rock garden. On the Grand Menu, perennial favourites like tempura, nishin soba and Kobe beef sit alongside more exotic fare like seared sea cucumber entrails….

There Will Be Blood: Shakeout Inevitable in Crowded CDN Industry, Dan Rayburn

There Will Be Blood: Shakeout Inevitable in Crowded CDN Industry, Dan Rayburn

It’s another bubble that will burst. The number of companies and entering the content delivery network space is not sustainable, says Dan Rayburn, director of Streaming Media and an authority on the content delivery network business.

According to Dan’s reckoning, some $282 million in venture funding has been raised over the past 12 months for CDN players in an industry that has total revenue of $410 million. He says a dramatic consolidation is inevitable within the next 18 months.

Not cheery news for the industry gathered at the Streaming Media East show in New York this week. I interviewed Dan yesterday.

Standing Bar S
