Wild Oats/Whole Foods

Wild Oats/Whole Foods

Since I am not a regular shopper at the place, what is up with the Wild Oats/Whole Foods on Alton. I used to have my finger on the pulse of the natural products industry, and now feel very out of the loop. I thought it had become a Whole Foods? Why does this sign still say Wild Oats? Thats a little confusing, ya know?

And if it is now a Whole Foods, where am I going to take my dates to show off my awesome, awesome label writing skills?

Techno Sluts @ VooDoo Lounge ? 06.20.2008
For a little change of pace, I headed over to VooDoo Lounge in Ft. Lauderdale for my fetish fix. Techno Sluts II was going on strong as leather, feather, and lace clad girls pranced around to the electro and industrial music. There was plenty of spanking and piercing going on, keeping everyone highly […]

Re’Cue

Posted in Tokyo on June 29th, 2008

Re’Cue
Rub shoulders with Japan's smart-set in this temple to chic in the Far East. Thanks to it's dark interior, artfully dimmed by table-top lamps, and a labyrinthine layout, it's all-too-easy to get lost. But who cares when you can sip on sake, or nurse a mighty beniotome to clear even the most jaded of palettes in readiness for a wooden bowl of tofu…

Article - Chic Hotel Bars
If you’re looking for a change of scene, a bird’s-eye view of the city, or a Bond-worthy martini at 3pm, Tokyo’s design-savvy luxury hotels are just the ticket. Forget brass-studded Naugahyde chairs and watered-down highballs. These days, the hotel bar experience is more fun than merely funny. Internationally acclaimed designers have injected the stodgy hotel bar with real style, and skilled bartenders have revived the art of the properly mixed cocktail.

Article - European curries in Tokyo
Tokyo has scores of restaurants serving Japanese curry, but the subgroup devoted to “Oufuu” (European-style) curry have their own special charm. These restaurants typically have French-sounding names and classic 1970s Japanese coffeeshop decor - heavy wooden tables; white stucco walls hung with paintings; artistic knickknacks everywhere; bebop-era jazz playing in the background. The curries themselves are a mix of European and Indian influences - basically the roux incorporate Indian spices simmered in a European-style stew base, each shop with its own special recipe….
