We Were Born in the 80?s
Wasabi Fashion Kult held a fantastic 80’s fashion show at the Vagabond last night. The models were beautiful & spunky, the crowd was good, and the clothes reminded me of the decade I was born in. And what night in downtown Miami is complete without walking outside to witness a large black man [...]
Mustang Bandita!
When on a cross country road trip, keep an eye on your rear view mirror at all times. Highway robbery is on the rise. If you’re not carefull, she’ll be on your ass faster than you can say “69′ Mustang Cobra”. She’ll distract you with her body, take your money, fill you [...]
MSTRKRFT @ LIV
Toronto superstars MSTRKRFT destroyed Liv in Miami Beach with their unique style of electronic house. Even with crappy weather on a Wednesday night, Frank Sinatra’s former hangout was full of dance-crazy hipsters & club angels who were there to witness the power of these Canadian audio gangsters. The photos tell the tale. Highlights:
Dinner at Casa Casuarina (The Versace Mansion)
I went there for dinner Fri night and it was so much fun. It?s very formal, and the main didning room is open air, with a canopy..so it?s pretty warm in there. There?s another very private and nicely decorated room with mosaic tiles. There?s a bar area on the balcony that overlooks the swimming pool area, which is stunning. There are tables around the pool but the area was closed.
It?s mostly fun for the atmosphere, but the food and service are great too. I had the Burrata salad for an appatizer, and then red snapper with a mango salsa. Like a steakhouse you order the sides seperately..we had yummy roasted potatoes (almost a wedge french fry), and green beans almondine. The side dishes are large enough for two people to share. My friend got the Wild King Salmon.
We had drinks at the balcony bar and then ordered dessert. We ordered two but they only brought one, some sort of chocolate mousse concoction. I have to say I was underwhelmed by their dessert selection. No tiramisu, no chocolate ganache cake..and this is the kind of place where people linger over dessert.
At 10 pm, the place was empty except for the bar area. We headed down to the Moroccan themed room, off of the pool that I think you can rent for parties. We hung out there with no one bothering us, but the waiters did come and have a drink with us. Although we were allowed to, we didn?t go swimming. My friend?s a member, and membership has it?s privileges! Next time I?m bringing a swimsuit..It?s also a hotel.
Having dinner here is a treat, and perfect for celebrating a special occasion.
