South Beach High End Restaurants

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some opinions on the best restaurants in South Beach? I need to find work as a server. I haven?t moved yet but need to secure a job. I would like to focus on Steakhouse?s/Steak & Seafood. But interested in all Finer Dining establishments. Particularly restaurants that would have a $50 per guest check average or higher.(higher the better)I am in my 20?s, have a professional appearance, great work ethic, & allot of restaurant experience.

I am not familiar with the Hospitality job market in Sobe, so I was also wondering when the best time/times were to secure a job. High end restaurants can usually be hard to get into sometimes, any input or if any body knows if any are hiring? I can fly down for some promising leads..

While checking out the web site for the Newport Beach-side Resort, I read that the Pub restaurant is no longer. I remember as a kid, this place had excellent food and large portions and my parents swore by their chocolate moose. There was an original Pub restaurant in downtown Miami as well as the Newport?s Pub. When did they close? Why did they close? Anyone ever eaten at either Pub restaurant?

Eating Semi-Cheaply

5 of us are going to SoBe in August and were wondering what restaurant were reasonably priced for college students.  Any suggestions would be helpful

Hi folks,

Me and my buddy(heartbroken buddy lol) are coming to Miami(Sobe) over labour day. Usually I prefer to mingle with ppl in a less crazy environment than a club, so what places(pubs/lounges) would be great to go to with some nice music and a good crowd. We would arrive night of Aug 29th.

Also we would like to check out a few clubs, I guess i followed the names in other places. Is bottle service required to get in most?

also are there any cool beach bars to hang out at?

Ok so i have a few questions.
My boyfriend and I are going to Miami for HIS 21st birthday. I am 18, but have a fake. We mostly listen to Rap/Hip-Hop.We will only be in Miami for a weekend (Sept.5-7) Where should we go??? I would like to know of some places that I can get in w/o my fake and some with. Its a real VA ID, just not me.

If you love Argentine food, and your bank account looks like….well….mine, you should love this little restaurant my friend Dave and I found this afternoon!

Called Cafe Charlotte, it?s located at 1497 Washington Avenue, right across the street from Kafka?s newsstand, about a block north of the Clay Hotel.  It looks rather unpretentious from the outside, so you might be tempted to pass it by for pricer places up the street, but the cuisine here is just as good?if not better?than those other spots where you could easily spend three times as much on the bill! They specialize in Argentine and Venezuelan cuisine, offering entrees for just $7.95?same prices for lunch and dinner! Their hours are 12 noon through 11 pm.

I had the entraña (skirt steak), cooked medium rare, with a side of salad.  The steak was very well seasoned and tender, and comes with two sumptuous ?chimichurri? sauces, made with garlic, olive oil, cilantro, sauteed onions, and various spices.  The salad was a zesty collection of mixed greens.

My friend Dave had the milanesa de carne, a breaded steak topped with ham and melted mozarella cheese, with a side of french fries, also $7.95.

Other items on the menu include the Milanesa Napolitana (a breaded beef steak, topped with homemade tomato sauce, ham and mozarella cheese), Tilapia fish with (homemade) lime sauce, Pollo con champignones (a flat top chicken breast topped with mushrooms), Lemon chicken, and Pabellon, a Venezuelan specialty consisting of black beans, rice, sweet plantains, shredded beef, and fried egg.  All the entrees are no higher than $7.95!!

The walls are bedecked with photos of all things Argentine, and there are two large windows facing Washington Avenue in the front, which provide an ideal vantage point for people watching, while you?re sipping a nice glass of Mendoza cabernet for only $3.95, or $14.95 by the bottle.

We?ve only lived here for two weeks, but this place will no doubt become one of our regular hangouts!

August Second Saturday

This Saturday marks the Wynwood Art Walk and Design District Second Saturday. Things usually get started around 7 p.m. - this is one party in Miami that you don’t want to be fashionably late for. The festivities will end promptly at 10 p.m.
